The Kaiser Permanente L.A.U.N.C.H.* High School Summer Youth Employment Program has been part of Kaiser Permanente’s Community Service efforts beginning in 1968.  Since its inception, over 25,000+ students have benefited from the training and education programs that have been offered.  We are obviously pleased with the success of this program.

The Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program is equally pleased to welcome each and every one of you as youth employees, and we are extremely hopeful that this year’s program will again provide every participant with the training and guidance which is so essential to being employable in our complex society.

Please accept our personal welcome and a challenge for excellence.  Keeping in mind that you will benefit from this program only to the extent that you work hard to learn as much as possible, we challenge each of you to make this work experience one of the most meaningful and memorable of your life.

This program is not only designed to help you understand the realities of the work place, it designed to encourage your interest in pursuing a career in health care whether it be in a profession that supports the delivery of health care services or provides direct care. To develop the understanding that a position in any related health care field requires teamwork, initiative and critical thinking skills, we encourage you to ask questions and to inquire how each task contributes to serving our customers who are our members and patients.

Please ensure you fill out and return all documents to Kaiser's partner in this project, Virginia Kelsen, Chaffey District Executive Director of Career Readiness no later than Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 4:00 p.m.  Her office will be open again beginning Monday, April 2, at 7:30 a.m.

Please complete and return, with all necessary signatures:

Program Application (signature required on page 2)

Intern Eligibility Statement (signature required on page 4)

Parental Consent Form (parent signature required on page 5)

 Resume (Refer to page 7)

Work Permit (You can get one of these from your school's career center when spring break ends)

If you have questions about this program, the Assistant Principal of Achievement at your school can assist you when spring break ends.  You can also email Dr. Kelsen at Virginia.Kelsen@cjuhsd.net over break if you have an urgent question.
